"Do we hate the boss who just fired us, the collection agent who's harassing us, the customer who didn't pay us? Or is it politicians we hate, right or left? Aliens, legal or illegal? Pro or anti-abortionists? Comedians who mock Jesus? News commentators or book authors who attack Christians or Christianity? The moment we grant ourselves permission to hate even those who hate us, we become one with them and not one with Christ."
Want to change the world? Then be different when everyone expects you to be the same.

This time of year in the South there are still leaves of color all around us and the effect is magical. No matter how busy we are, there's something arresting about the early November brilliance. A small start spreads rapidly until all the world is flaming. It's an exciting time as everything that has been previously sown comes to bountiful harvest. It quickens a thanksgiving response to the splendor and beauty of God's re-creation and redemption at work in our midst--within and without--past, present, and future.
