Regarding the Evangelical Manifesto Just google the phrase “useful idiots” on any news page tonight and you’ll see why we think the release of the Evangelical Manifesto will prove to be a hurtful experience in the Body of Christ. That’s the phrase the document actually uses! Surely the drafters must have realized that would be the sound bite most likely pulled from their document when they crafted it.
I write this with absolute despondency. These are my heroes; mentors; even my friends.

More on the Manifesto Let me be even more frank than before. This is a brilliant document brought to its knees by injudicious phrasing and a release process which almost guaranteed a sense of conflict and discord. As we mentioned in yesterday’s update, there was hope for An Evangelical Manifesto to become one of the most important documents in the recent history of the church.

Featured Bible Study |
Fighting the Wrong Fights This set of five studies is intended to help us move from a place where we tolerate moral relativity in our lives to a place where we reflect steadfast character. Doing this requires concentrated action on our part. In other words, we must be intentional. In the first of the five studies, we examined ways to avoid letting ridicule, threats and criticism distract us from our call to Christ-like character. This study helps us identify when, and how, to handle conflict that arises in our careers. (4/24/2008)
Key Truth
The principles of church discipline described in Matthew 18 are not generally useful in workplace conflict resolution.
You’ve just been told someone is spreading a rumor about you at work. Worse than that, you’ve also just learned the management team used that rumor to pass you over for promotion. What should you do?
One of the least-written-about areas of business life for Christians appears to be the issue of lawsuits and legal actions. What Biblical principles govern Christians when fair play falters or disputes arise. We’ve put together some of the wisdom gleaned from a study of Scripture passages addressing lawsuits directly, and from principles which appear to offer additional insight into God’s views on these matters.
Working Christians often think if they live good lives and do their work well, people will ask them about their faith. This is one of the great errors of work/faith thinking; that sharing Christ at work is a passive exercise. However, there are several urgent factors to take into consideration when approaching the task at hand.
One of the more dangerous and inappropriate trends in work/faith ministry is the effort to downplay the importance of the local church, and the vital role pastors play in the body of Christ. Scripture teaches that both are essential elements of both corporate and individual spiritual growth.
