Two folders sat on President Abraham Lincoln's desk, each asking him to commute or pardon the sentence of death hanging over the soldier named therein. Without the President's pardon, both would die by hanging within the week.

It is no accident the century after the Enlightenment saw more deaths by genocide than all of history to that date. Humankind separated from God is humankind separated from its moral compass.

"Do we hate the boss who just fired us, the collection agent who's harassing us, the customer who didn't pay us? Or is it politicians we hate, right or left? Aliens, legal or illegal? Pro or anti-abortionists? Comedians who mock Jesus? News commentators or book authors who attack Christians or Christianity? The moment we grant ourselves permission to hate even those who hate us, we become one with them and not one with Christ."
Want to change the world? Then be different when everyone expects you to be the same.

Over the past thirty days, American culture has turned a corner, shifting what was once an inexorable, uncomfortably rapid slide away from the God into a stampede. While it isn't fair to lay this shift on President Obama's shoulders, it is his election which has emboldened those who are responsible for the stampede.
America was clearly tired of how the country was being managed, and the shift from Republican to Democratic leadership was their way of telling their leaders they wanted change. But the change the American people demanded with their vote was not a repudiation of Christianity and it was not an invitation to throw out the principles which were used to build this country. In fact, it was a call to return to those principles.
Unfortunately, nobody is listening. (Click through on the title to read more.)
